Deliberate Design

Design should be intentional with authentic and deliberate (purposeful) designers. 

Listening to Antionette Carroll talk about Creative Reaction Lab and their work made me realize that it is not enough to be on quote designers, our designs must have a purpose that considers its impacts on the communities and people it reaches. It has to be deliberate with intentional outcomes. 

There is also the challenge of designing with diverse communities in mind rather than the traditional group that has historically been designed for. Because when we broaden our horizons and include new groups, we open new experiences that transform what we create and its impact. But, all this is especially important when there is a clear purpose behind who and what we are designing for.
